Arctic Farming raises EUR 350K Seed round to kick-off international expansion

Arctic Farming, a Finland-based AgriTech startup founded by space industry experts, has successfully raised €350,000 in a recent Seed round. This significant funding milestone will propel Arctic Farming's vision to change how food is produced on planet Earth, and beyond by making vertical farming mainstream.

Arctic Farming raises EUR 350K in Seed from Heino Group and Norex International

Arctic Farming aims to revolutionise the way food is cultivated on planet Earth and beyond, leveraging their expertise in the space industry. The Finland based AgriTech startup has developed a pioneering professional vertical farming appliance designed for the HoReCa sector. The patent pending solution empowers hotels, restaurants, and retail stores to grow fresh herbs, leafy greens, and berries on-site, regardless of location or season. This cutting-edge technology, inspired by NASA research, is not only tailored for the present-day HoReCa sector but also holds potential for future applications in space exploration.

This investment is in line with our strategy to invest in sustainable and innovative companies that are addressing global challenges in the food and beverage industry.  We were particularly impressed by the strong team behind this start-up and their novel approach to vertical farming.  We believe their expertise and fresh perspective will drive significant advancements in the field.

Jasper Heino, Investment Manager – Heino Group

The funds raised in this Seed round will play a pivotal role in Arctic Farming's journey towards commercialisation. With a focus on finalising their first commercial product, the company will refine their innovative vertical farming appliance, ensuring its seamless integration into HoReCa operations. Additionally, the investment will enable Arctic Farming to attract top talent, further augmenting their team of experts, and provide the impetus for an ambitious international expansion.

When we were given this opportunity and dissuaded investing in Arctic Farming Oy, we felt we could be part of a promising journey towards a greener future. It's a chance to grow our investment portfolio while making a positive impact on the planet. We feel this investment opportunity can bring fruitful rewards, both environmentally and financially."

Tomas Lönnberg, CEO – Norex International

"We are thrilled to have secured this substantial Seed round investment," said Oliver Rotko, Co-Founder and CEO of Arctic Farming. "The support and trust from Heino Group and Norex International, who bring incredible value to the company with their long history and extensive experience in the food and HoReCa markets, will fuel our mission to revolutionise the way food is grown and consumed. With our innovative vertical farming technology, we aim to bring fresh and sustainable produce to the hospitality and retail sectors by implementing technologies originally developed for the space industry. This funding will accelerate our journey towards commercial success and help us forge partnerships globally."

The AgriTech industry is poised for exponential growth, with vertical farming gaining significant momentum as a sustainable solution to the challenges of traditional agriculture. Arctic Farming is well-positioned to capitalise on this trend, backed by their innovative technology and the expertise of their team.
